Travel 300 feet beneath the earth's surface and experience the National Award-Winning Historical Attraction - the Lackawanna County Coal Mine Tour. The once abandoned and now restored hard coal mine is a cool 53 degrees year-round and provides you the opportunity to see a day-in-the-life of the area's workers that powered the Industrial Revolution.

Proposed itinerary.
Depart Chester County around 8:30 am. Participants may drive themselves or arrange car-pools. Drive time to the location is about 2:10 from Downingtown.
Arrive at the Lackawana Coal Mine Tour before 11:00. Tours depart irregularly depending on demand. Tours last about an hour.
Lunch afterward at a location to be determined.

And here's a novel idea. You will be 1/2 the way to the path of the solar eclipse on Monday, April 8. Kathy and I plan to stay locally, then continue northward on Sunday to view this event on Monday, weather permitting.
